Abstract
Kidney beans are one source of proteins. Red beans can lower phytic acid in the body of mice so that the levels of magnesium also declined. Phytic acid is mioinositol heksafosfat which has many acid groups, thus forming complex compounds that are insoluble in gastric fluid. This study was to determine the initial magnesium level in the blood serum of mice as well as changes in magnesium levels after administration of red beans on white male rats. This type of research use photometer and the sample collection method using mice as much as 32 tails, then normality test on magnesium levels with test One Sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test and continued with statistical tests using the Independent Sample t-Test calculations with SPSS. Measurement method magnesium levels had a mean control photometer first week, the second week and third week is the control sample = 1.988 mg/dl and 2.311 mg/dl, the second week and 2,150 mg/dl control samples of 2.025 mg/dl, the third week and 2,327 mg/dl control samples of 1,800 mg/dl The result of the calculation of Independent Sample t-Test obtained probability value (Sig 2 tailed) = 0.00 the first week, the second week of 0,047, the third week of 0.00. value the probability is far below < 0.05 then Ho = rejected. So in conclusion there is a difference between the average levels of magnesium in the first week, the second week and third week. Keywords : Magnesium, Phytic Acid, Kidney Beans, Photometer
