Abstract
Adolescence was a transition period or storm and stress period that reflect modern culture that fulled with fluctuation caused by the clash of values. At this time usually appears a tendency of adolescents to conduct deviant behavior. Deviant behavior related to moral reasoning and religiosity of each individual. This research aimed to determine the correlation between religiosity and moral reasoning of adolescent, to determine the level of religiosity, and to determine how well moral reasoning of the subjects. This study used Quantitative methods and sample collection was done by Cluster Random Sampling. The hypothesis was; there is a positive correlation between religiosity and moral reasoning of adolescent. The subjects of this research were 74 9th grade students of SMP Batik Surakarta, aged 14 up to 16 years-old with the distribution of male students; 40 students and female students; 34 students. Data collecting method were using moral reasoning scale and religiosity scale. Product moment correlation by Pearson was employed as method of data analyzing. The result of the data analyzing showed coefficient correlation; rxy = 0,339 with p = 0,003 (p < 0,01). It proved that there is a very significant and positive correlation between religiosity and moral reasoning of the subject. Therefore, the hypothesis of this research was accepted. Then, based on the data, it result the highest percentage on religiosity at 78,38% which is belonged to very high classification, while moral reasoning variable stand at 52,70% which included in good category.
