Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder with multiple etiologies which characterized by high levels of sugar accompanied by impaired metabolism of carbohydrate, lipid and protein as a result of insulin function insufficiency. The aims of this study was to evaluate and determine antidiabetic treatment in Diabetes Mellitus Type II patient at Cilegon Hospital Banten includes right indication, right drug, right dose, and right patient. This study was used descriptive method with data collection retrospectively. Data used was secondary data obtained from medical record of diabetes mellitus type II patients which contains identity of diabetes mellitus type II patient and rationality usage of antidiabetic drug. Data which obtained were analyzed with Perkeni 2006 Standard and formulary. The research result was showed that antidiabetic use in diabetes mellitus type II patients in Cilegon Hospital Banten in 2013 was insulin as 81 cases with percentage of 75 %. Sulfonylurea class were 9 cases with percentage of 8,33 %, and biguanide class were 18 cases with percentage of 16,66 %. While the antidiabetic use rationality seen from criteria of right indication 100 %, right drug 100 %, right dose 100 %, while right patient 97,84 %.
