Abstract
Pharmaceutical service according to government regulations No.51 in 2009 was direct and responsible services to patient associated with pharmaceutical stock to achieve definite outcome to improve life quality of patient. One of the service is society service who carry out self-medication which are provision of information followed by monitoring during drug usage and finally evaluated. The purpose of this study was to determine effect of expensive medical cost, rapidity to get drug, advertising message, information from others, consumer interest and availability of new drug to consumers in carry out self-medication in Berkat Pharmacy Cemani Sukoharjo. This study was associative design to determine effect between variables of expensive medical cost, rapidity to get drug, advertising message, information from others, consumer interest and availability of new drug with consumer's decision to carry out self-medication in Berkat Pharmacy Cemani Sukoharjo. The results showed partially that only availability of new drug which significantly affect self-medication (p = 0.000), while simultaneously that expensive medical cost, rapidity to get drug, advertising message, information from others, consumer interest and availability of new drug affect to consumers in self-medication. Variable of consumers carry out self-medication Berkat Pharmacy Cemani Sukoharjo could be explained by factors of expensive medical cost, rapidity to get drug, advertising message, information from others, consumer interest and availability of new drug was 34.4%.
