Abstract
Atherosclerosis is the primary etiology of Coronary Heart Disease (CHD). Increase of LDL and decrease of HDL causing hyperlipidemia situation. Mole crab (Emerita emeritus) is a sea biota that has some nutrients which one is Omega-3 (EPA and DHA) that has anti-hyperlipidemia effect. This study was intended to find out the effect of mole crabs (Emerita emeritus) granule to decrease LDL levels and increase HDL levels, and to know the effect of dose mole crab (Emerita emeritus) granule of the decrease in LDL levels and increase HDL levels. Mole crab granule was made by wet granulation, using lactose as a filler and mucilago amili as a binder. This study used 30 white male mice which were devided into 6 test group’s. Group I (normal group), group II (granule lactose), group III (simvastatin 0,18mg/200g bb), group IV (266mg/200g bb), group V (532mg/200g bb), group VI (798mg/200g bb). Analysis data using Kolmogorov Smirnof test, ANOVA one way followed by Post Hoc Test. The study of the 3 variations of the dose that I dose (266 mg/200g bb) , II dose (532mg/200g bb) , III dose (798mg/200g bb) shows the effect on LDL and HDL levels in rats. Granule III dose mole crab ( 798mg/200g bb) are effective in lowering LDL levels and increase HDL levels were significantly (p<0.05). Keywords : mole crab, LDL, HDL
