Abstract

Aloe Vera is one of simplisia plant that contain tannin and saponin. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a bacteria that can cause ulcers. This research aim to test the antibacterial activity of aloe vera leaves skin extract the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa by diffusion. Aloe vera leaves skin extract are obtained through maceration method using ethanol 70%. Leather leaf extract prepared in various concentrations (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%). Antibacterial activity test performed by diffusion method to determine the radicals zone diameter against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Tannin and saponin test of aloe vera leaves skin extract showed positive results as an antibacterial. Results of the research potential of antibacterial skin aloe leaf extract against Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria are form an average diameter zone of inhibition at a concentration of 25% is 10 mm, at a concentration of 50% is 11 mm, at a concentration of 75% is 12.3 mm and at a concentration of 100 mm. Based on 14.6% is statistical analysis of the most well concentration was 100%. Based on the test results showed that the leaf extract of aloe vera skin has antibacterial potency against Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
