Abstract

PT. DAN LIRIS is a company engaged in the textile industry. Companies are required in order to produce a good quality product. Based on the background above the quality control is very necessary. The purpose of this final project is to determine the causes of disability cotton fabric products and make improvements in order to improve product quality at PT. DAN LIRIS using Seven Tools method. Type of data collected in the form of primary and secondary data, while data collection method using observation, interview and documentation. For data processing using histogram, pareto diagram, cause and effect diagram, scatter diagram and U-control chart. Histogram and pareto diagram show that stripes absorption is the highest defect type. Causal diagram shows the root of the problem of defects, the results showed that the dominant cause of defects are human factors and tools (machines). After the implementation of the improvement there is a decrease of defects by 9%. The advice given can be a consideration of decision making in terms of quality improvement of cotton fabric for the future. Keywords: quality control, Seven Tools method
