Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that requires precision, obedience and length of time in treatment (WHO) predicts that the number of people with diabetes will increase in coming years, including Indonesia so that the necessary normative data to improve the quality of life of patients by measuring adherence and treatment patterns for diabetes mellitus, The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of compliance and treatment patterns for patients with diabetes mellitus therapeutic outcomes outpatient clinic in hospital Karanganyar disease. This study used cross sectional method. Data collection was done by sampling consecutive, Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) is used to measure treatment adherence, treatment patterns and patient blood glucose values were taken from a medical record retrospectively. Further data analysis descriptive statistics and correlation test methods. The results showed that the level of compliance has significant value to the reduction of fasting blood glucose and 2-hour postprandial glucose with a value of 0,000 (<0,05). The pattern of treatment did not significantly influence the treatment outcome of patients with diabetes mellitus in an outpatient clinic in a Karanganyar hospital with significant values (>0,05).
