Abstract

Pharmacy services are support services and they are also one main income, considering that more than 90% of health cares in hospitals use pharmaceutical supply Due to a number of errors in the administration of drugs that cause unexpected events, then the accreditation process in hospital pharmacy unit in terms of Medication Management and Use (MMU/MPO) is the effective tool to ensure improved service quality on an ongoing basis and able to provide the excellent service or products that have competitiveness oriented to patients for the patient safety. The objective of this study to determine the level of pharmacy service conformity on MPO seven accreditation standards and its development strategy with Hanlon method based on hospital accreditation standards regarding MPO Pharmacy Unit at the Hospital of PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta. This study was a non-experimental. The data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The data was collected using self-assessment questionnaire to the hospital pharmacy unit staff involved based on MPO seven standards. Interviews and document searches were also performed to support the data obtained in depth. The development strategy for solving problems of assessment element used the analysis of problem priority with Hanlon method. The research results of the conformity level of pharmacy service on the accreditation standards of MPO is MPO1 of organization and management by 98.71%, MPO2 of selection and procurement by 98.26%, MPO3 of storage by 98.37%, MPO4 of booking and recording by 97.83%, MPO5 of preparation and distribution by 96.37%, MPO6 of administration by 98.82% and MPO7 of monitoring by 94.10%. Of the 24 elements of the MPO assessment standard performed, there are still 7 which still do not meet the maximum standards and have little flaws. The analysis of problem priority of assessment element uses Hanlon method, that is, the first priority of assessment element MPO6.P3 of personnel identification to administer drugs, the second is MPO7.P2 of monitoring the effects of drugs, the third is MPO4.P2 of competent personnel identification, the fourth is MPO1.P4 of services of drug information use, the fifth is MPO3.P1 of storage of nutritional products, the sixth is MPO5.P3 of preparation of sterile products and the seventh is MPO7.P3 of recording or reporting drug that is not expected in the patient's status.
