Abstract
South African leaf has not been so well known in Indonesia, uses as antihypertensive and antidiabetic. This research aims to determine the class of metabolic compounds secondary and the effect of interence extraction methods. Research was conducted by the method of extraction maceration and sokhlet using ethanol 70%, both of extract fractionated using solvent n-hexane, chloroform, ethanol produce thick leaf extract southern Africa. That Extracts obtainable separated by Thin Layer Chromatography.Fraction of n-hexane for identification of essential oils, triterpenoids. Chloroform fraction for identification of alkaloids, flavonoids, anthraquinone. Fraction of ethanol for identification glycosides and saponin. Based on the identification that has been done conclusions can be taken. The research is based maceration method produced yield as much as 23.10% and based sokhlet method the yield as much as 7.89% .Maceration extract yield from the fractionation of the fraction of n-hexane produce a yield of 38.82%, 39.49% chloroform, ethanol 37.33%, of the sokhlet yield of n-hexane extract of 31.93%, 32.06% chloroform, ethanol 31.82 %, Of both the extraction method extracts maceration produce The greatest yield, with a qualitative test and analysis of TLC showed that the south Africa leaf contain a compound secondary metabolic alkaloids, flavonoids, anthraquinone, essential oils, triterpenoids, saponin and glycosides, Respecting Keywords: South Africa Leaf,Thin Layer Chromatography, Secondary Metabolic
