Abstract

Asthma is a disorder such as inflammatory (inflammation) that causes chronic airway hyperactivity of bronchi to various stimuli which is characterized by recurrent episodic symptoms of wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, and tightness in the chest. The causes of asthma are a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Treatment of asthma there are two ways pharmacological (drug therapy) and non-pharmacological (sanitation). The purpose of this study was to analyze the use of drugs antiasthma in asthma patients hospitalized in the Hospital Dr. Moewardi Surakarta in 2014. This study uses secondary data collection methods antiasthma drug use by examining reports of drug use antiasma every month in the Medical Records Section and Installation pharmacy Hospital Dr. Moewardi Surakarta in 2014. Data were analyzed with parametric tests (one-way ANOVA). The result showed antiasthma drugs that are often used in patients with asthma: (1) Methylprednisolone 4 mg (382 tablet), (2) Salbutamol 2 mg (268 tablet), (3) Aminophyline 200 mg (210 tablet), (4) salbutamol 4 mg (117 tablet), (5) Dexamethasone 0.5 mg (102 tablet) and (6) methylprednisolone 8 mg (87 tablet). The percentage of drug use Aminophyline 200 mg decreased its quarterly. While other drugs such as dexamethasone 0.5 mg, Methylprednisolone 4 mg and 8 mg, Salbutamol 2 mg and 4 mg experienced an increase and a decrease in the percentage of each respective quarterly.
