Abstract
Diarrhea is a disease characterized by increased frequency of defecation more than usual ( 3 times / day ) accompanied by changes in the stool becomes more liquid , with or without mucus / blood . Diarrhea is a leading cause of morbidity ( illness ) and mortality ( death ) in the world , especially in developing countries . diarrhea can be caused by viruses , bacteria , and the environment . the greatest risk of diarrhea is dehydration that can result in shock until death. This research aimed to explain the profile of patients and profile of drugs used in RSUP (Central General Hospital) Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten. The method employed in this research was descriptive one, taking the medical record data from January to June 2014. As the sample, this study employed the patient, aged 0-89 years. The result of research on RSUP Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten include sex (53,57 % male, 46,43 % female), age (41% 0-9 years, 4% 10-19 years, 9% 20-29 years, 9% 30-39 years, 5% 40-49 years, 10% 50-59 years, 8% 60-69 years, 9% 70-79 years, and 5% 80-89 years). The result of research showed that antidiarrhea drug used commonly by diarrhea patients were: (1) Inf RL+Zinc+Lacto B, (2) Inf RL+Inj Ranitidin+Inj Ondansetron+New diatab, Inf RL+Inj Ranitidin+New diatab, (3) Inf RL+Inj Ranitidin=Inj Ondansetron+PCT+New diatab. The use of anti-diarrhea drug in RSUP Dr. Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten had been consistent with Formulary standard of Hospital.
