Abstract
Pharmacological activity bawang lanang have proved to be better than garlic, but not necessarily safe in the organs of the body when used in a long time. Need to be tested more about security. It can be determined by subchronic toxicity test. This study aims to determine the effect of fresh bawang lanang juice orally on body weight, the levels of BUN, plasma creatinine, urine creatinine, and histopathological observations in the kidneys. The study also aims to determine the effect of differences in the provision of fresh bawang lanang juice to male rats and female rats. Test animals used were male and female mice by 48 tails were divided into 4 groups of 6 mice each male and 6 female mice. Dose I 0.3185 g/200 g bw, a dose II 1.5925 g/200 g bw, a dose III 3.1850 g/200 g bb and negative control by giving aquadestilata. Testing is done every 1 month for 3 consecutive months. The results show that administration of fresh bawang lanang juice for 3 months can lose weight male and female rats. And no toxic effects on the kidneys were observed with biochemical parameters. The observed histopathological difference toxic effects between male mice and female mice of fresh bawang lanang juice orally. Keywords : bawang lanang, toxicity, biochemical, histopathology.
