Abstract

Rosella petals (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) contain flavonoid that can inhibit the enzyme HMG-COA work reductase (an enzyme that plays a role in the initial step Synthesis of cholesterol) and increase the synthesis of LDL receptors. This causes decreased synthesis of cholesterol and increased cholesterol clerence of the liver, so it can lower cholesterol levels in the blood. And bay leaf contains compounds niacin content (vitamin B3) and Eugenia polyantha fiber can help increase serum HDL cholesterol to be able to suppress or prevent the condition of hyperlipidemia. Simplicia rosella flower petals and leaves were extracted by maceration for 5 days with 70% ethanol followed by concentrated in an evaporator with a temperature less than 50 º C to obtain a thick extract of roselle flower petals and leaves. Used the dose I 2,25 mg/200g BB : 9,72 mg/200g ; II 4,5 mg/200g : 6,48 mg/200g ; III 6,48 mg/200g : 3,24 mg/200g. The results of this research is concluded that the combination flower petals rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) and leaf salam (Eugenia polyantha) to have the effect as an anti hyperlipidemia. Doses of anti-hyperlipidemic effect of having used the dose 9 mg/200 g BB : 12,96 mg/200 g BB. In statistical analysis showed no significant difference among the three doses and also no significant difference to the positive control.
