Abstract

Black sticky rice (Oryza sativa L.) is plant which one of the benefit is as anti inflammatory. This research aims to know the anti inflammatory effect of black sticky rice (Oryza sativa L.) ethanol extract and their relation with effective doses of black sticky rice (Oryza sativa L.) ethanol extract in white male rats. As many as 25 experimental animals was divided into 5 groups: negative control group treated with Na. CMC 1%, positive control group treated with Na-diklofenak, group black sticky rice ethanol extract with dosage 1.57 mg/200g weight of rats, 3.15 mg/200g weight of rats, 6.30mg/ 200g weight of rats. Each of experimental animals were made ill by induction 0.1 mL of caragenin 1% after 30 minutes measurement of udema volume with a tool called pletismometer. Each experimental animals given treatment according as their dosage treatment group and the volume of udema is measured every 1 hour during 5 hours. Data result were analyzed with SPSS with One Way ANOVA to know the significance different from the result and continue with Tukey tests to see the differences between each treatment group. Based on these results, it can be inferred that black sticky rice (Oryza sativa L.) ethanol extract have anti inflammatory effects and doses of 6.30mg/200g weight of rats showed most effective anti-inflammatory activity than doses of 1.57 mg/rat 200g weight of rats and 3.15 mg/200 g weight of rats. Higher dose given to the rats then deliver better in increasing of antiinflammatory effects. Key words : Black sticky rice (Oryza sativa L.), Flavonoid, Antiinflammatory
