Abstract
czema, wounds, as antioxidants, and stamina enhancer. Red fruit contains tannin, flavonoid, polyphenols, essential oils, and fatty acids. The study was of subfraction of red fruit ethyl acetate fraction againts Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 9027 by diffusion method represented by the diameter of inhibition and effective concentration. Methanol extract, n-hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction, and water fraction of the red fruit were made the same concentration i.e. 75%, and then tested for antibacterial againts Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 9027 by diffusion method. The active fraction was sub-fractioned by column chromatography. There were 6 subfractions as result of the chromatography. Number five sub-fraction had the most potent antibacterial activity, so-called active sub-fraction. The active sub-fraction was made various concentrations i.e. 75%, 50%, 25%, and 10%; and tested for antibacterial againts Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 9027 by diffusion method with Gentamycin as positive control and DMSO as negative control. The volume of the used test solution was 50µl. The result of the study showed that sub-fraction with 75% concentration had the most potent antibacterial activity with average diameter of inhibitiory 11.00 mm, below the positive control.
