Abstract

Cherry is one of plants which has been proven to have antioxidant activity because it contains flavonoid substances. The aim this research is to know whether or not the difference in the physical stability of each formula cream cherry leaves extract and to determine whether or not changes in antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of leaves of cherry before and after be made cream, and after the storage of 21 days . Extract ethanolic of cherry leaves is obtained by maseration way of the using 70% ethanol liquid. The cream made in 5 formulas where the formula 1, 2, and 3 each contain extracts as much as 2%, 4%, and 6%. Formula 4 is a negative control and formula 5 is a positive control. Antioxidant activity tested with the DPPH method, and observed physical stability, the organoleptic, homogeneity, spreading, adhesing, viscosity, pH, and type of cream, respectively. The results shows that the cream of extract ethanolic from turmeric rhizome in various concentrations have good homogenity. More than concentration of extract in cream produce the viscosity and adhesing smaller, but spreading getting bigger. The test results showed the difference in the physical stability of each formula and there are differences in antioxidant activity of ethanol extract of leaves of cherry before and after be made cream, and after the storage for 21 days .
