Abstract

Dandang gendis leaf and mimba leaf is a medicinal plant that contains flavonoid compounds, saponins and tannins, and mimba leaf also contains andrografolide compounds which have high antioxidant activity potentially as hepatoprotector. This research was conducted to know the dos combination of ethanol extract 70% dandang gendis leaf and mimba leaf which is optimal to reduce levels of SGOT and SGPT in male rats strain wistar that induced paracetamol. This research used 40 rats were divided into 8 groups, each 5 rats that is, group I normal control, group II negative control (CMC 0,5%), group III positive control (curcuma 18 mg / kg BB), group IV given dandang gendis leaf extract dose 150 mg / kg BB, group V given mimba leaf extract 500 mg / kg BB, group VI, VII, VIII were given the extract of the combination of dandang gendis leaf and mimba leaf with a dose respectively 37,5 mg / kg BB : 375 Mg / kg BB, 75 mg / kg BB : 250 mg / kg BB, 112,5 mg / kg BB : 125 mg / kg BB. All groups were treated for 13 days. On day 11-13 all groups except the normal group were given paracetamol. All groups on days 0 and 14 are determined levels of SGOT and SGPT and taken the liver organ to make histology preparations. The data obtained were analyzed by One way anova test. The results showed that single dose of dandang gendis leaf extract, single dose of mimba leaf extract and dosage combination of dandang gendis leaf extract and mimba leaf extract analysis were not significantly different in decreasing SGOT and SGPT levels, but were able to inhibit liver cell necrosis in male rats strain wistar that induced paracetamol.
