Abstract

Inflammation is a local protective response that caused by injury or damage on tissue that destroy and bring down the agent that bring the damage and the damaged antiagent also. This research is aim to figure out the antiinflammatory effect of n-hexane moringa leaf extract toward white rats of wistar strain and know the effective dose of it. The anti-inflammatory effect testing is done by using 5 groups of rats which each group was induced by karagenin. Each group consisted of 5 white rats of wistar strain. The extract was gained by maceration with n-hexane solvent, so it resulted n-hexane moringa leaf extract.The first group is n-hexane moringa leaf extract with 22,5 mg/180 gBB dose, the second group is n-hexane moringa leaf extract with 45 mg/180 gBB dose, the third group n-hexane moringa leaf extract with 90 mg/180 gBB dose, the fourth group is negative control of CMC0,5% and the fifth group is positive control of NA-diclofenac then measured the udem volume for 5 hours and calculated its AUC. The result of this research showed that the n-hexane kelor leaf extract was able to bring an anti-inflammatory effect and the effective dose of n-hexane kelor leaf extract that brought the anti-inflammatory effect is 90 mg/180 gBB.
