Abstract

Leaf green mustard (Brassica juncea L.) can be used empirically as a emetic urine (diuretic). This research aims to know the diuretic effects of infusion leaf green mustard and effective dose ofinfusion leaf green mustard in white male rats wistar strain. Animal tests used as many as 25 tail and which are divide into 5 treatment groups those are : furosemid suspension dose of 0,72 mg / 200 g WB (positive control), 1 % PVP suspension, infusion leaf green mustard dose of 17,1 mg / 200 g WB (½DE), infusion leaf green mustard dose of 34,2 mg / 200 g WB (DE), infusion leaf green mustard dose of 68,4 mg / 200 g WB (2×DE) given orally with volume of 3 ml / 200 g WB. Then the urine volume are recorded at 6th, 12th and 24th hour. The diuretic effect can be seen from the data analysis results of AUC 06, AUC 6-12, AUC 12-24 and AUC 0-24 obtained from the urine volume each time of observation. Data analysis performed by parametric analysis with one way ANOVA (one way variant analysis) and Tukey HSD with 95 % significant level. The Research result obtained that infusion leaf green mustard has diuretic effect. The most effective dose are infusion leaf green mustard dose of 34,2 mg / 200 g WB (DE).
