Abstract
Takokak (Solanum torvum Swartz) is the one of the medicinal plants contains a steroid compound which can suppress immune response. This activity can be used in treatment of autoimmune diseases that are now has high prevalence people. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of n-hexane fraction of takokak fruits to decrease IgM titers balb/c mice induced by SRBC. This research uses 30 mice balb/c males which divided into 5 groups, group I (positive control) was given Methyl prednisolone at a dose of 0.5 mg / kg bw of mice and group II (negative control) was given 0.5% CMC solution. Group III, IV, and V was given n-hexane fraction of takokak fruits with successive dose is 20 mg / kg, 40 mg / kg, and 80 mg / kg bw. Before administered the sample test, all groups induced by SRBC 1% at day 0 in intraperitonial for 24 hours. Sample test administered for 5 days. On 6 day mice were taken to exam IgM titers serum of mice by indirect ELISA method. IgM titers data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA test. The results showed the fraction of n-hexane takokak fruit can lower IgM titers and effective dose to decrease is dose 40 mg/kg bw mice. IgG titers in groups dose 40 mg/kg bw mice to negative control group was 26.956% not much different from the positive control group to negative control group was 26.832%.
