Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus type 2 is a metabolic disorder characterized by high blood glucose levels or insulin resistance. This study aims to see the most frequent or the most common use of drugs in patients Geriatric Patient Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 In Outpatient Installation RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta Year 2017. The method used in this study is non-experimental descriptive, retrospective data retrieval from patient's Geriatric patient record of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The data used are age, sex, weight, drug use, and dosage amount. The data obtained are 85 patients, then grouped according to indication, analyzed, and compared with hospital formulary and PERKENI 2015. The results showed that the use of type 2 diabetes mellitus in geriatric patients in the outpatient installation of RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta in 2017 is metformin with the percentage of use of 25,89%, then sulfonylurea group that is glibenklamid with percentage 14,11%, and there are 2 group having equal use percentage equal to 11,76% coming from 2 different group, sulfonylurea group namely gliklazid and alpha-glucosidase inhibitors are akarbose. For example, other drugs derived from the sulphonylurea group glimepirid have a percentage of use of 10.59%, followed by glikuidon of 9.1% and glipizid 4.7%. The combination drug between metformin with glibenclamide and mentformin with glimepiride has the same percentage that is 5.89% with its conformity parameter according to hospital formulary and PERKENI 2015 can be stated to have 100% percentage according to hospital formulary and PERKENI 2015.
