Abstract

Drug planning is an effort to determine the type, quantity, and quality of the drug as needed. Antibiotics are used as the main therapy in the case of bacterial infections, so it needs good planning to control the supply. This study aims to compare the results of antibiotic drug planning with the procurement of antibiotic drugs in 2017 to improve the efficiency of procurement of antibiotics in Pharmacy Installation of Orthopedic Hospital Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta. This research is a non experimental research conducted retrospectively and evaluated by consumption method. Evaluation of planning done by collecting data of antibiotic drug in 2016 then calculated by formula of consumption method, taking into account the existence of factors influencing amount of drug procurement in Pharmacy Installation of Orthopedic Hospital Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta during 2017. Data were analyzed based on the Drug Management Indicators in the Hospital. Using medication management indicators in hospitals, the results showed that the percentage of drug procurement allocation was 21.9%, the frequency of procurement of medicines per item per year was 5.89 times, the percentage of the number of medicinal items held with the planned 57.43% Keywords: planning, procurement, antibiotics
