Abstract
Dental plaque is the main cause of occurrence of dental caries for it need to strive towards the establishment of pencegahan in plaque. Therefore conducted research that can be used to prevent dental plaque againts growth of Streptococcus mutans on dental acrylic resin plate. The purpose of this study was to find out that the combination of ethanol extract of betel leaf green and black cumin seeds can be made in the form of dosage toothpaste and able to prevent dental plaque on denture acrylic resin plate. This research was conducted on the quality of physical testing toothpaste that is testing its homogeneity, organoleptic, viscosity, spread power, test the acidity of pH and anti-bacterial activity. On testing anti bacterial acrylic resin used discs measuring 10x10x1 mm 13 units sterilized and immersed in 10 ml suspension of S. mutans for 24 hours at 37°C. Twelve pieces of acrylic resin discs were divided into 4 groups, one piece acrylic resin discs were used as control. The fourth group were immersed for 1x24 hours in each base with different concentrations at room temperature. Each tube conikel dilution series then drop on 1 petri dish so BHIB and incubated in the incubator for 48 hours at 37°C. The same thing is done on the tube conikel numbers 2-13, and then calculated the number of bacterial colonies using a oneway analysis of variance and t-test. The results of the physical material of quality toothpaste organoleptis week to-0 until weeks after the storage has a color ke-4, odors and the consistency of toothpaste and the consistency of toothpaste and preparations remains stable during storage, test its homogeneity is good with color light green and brownish green during storage. The results based on the inhibition of bacteria on ethanol extract toothpaste betel leaf green and black cumin seed 1,5% had the biggest drag 18,29 and least amount of colonies of bacteria that grow on the medium cup BHIB pointed out that the number of KHM on preparation of ethanol extract combination toothpaste betel leaf green and black cumin seed 2,5% amounted to 99,08 have the effect of preventing bacteria best able to inhibit the growth of bacteria and Streptococcus mutans on acrylic resin plate.
