Abstract
Urinary Tract Infection in Indonesia was the second most common disease after infection of the upper respiratory tract. Selection of various types of antibiotics in the hospital turned out to have an impact that is difficult for practitioners, especially in determining cost-effective antibiotics for patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the cost effectiveness in the use of antibiotics ciprofloxacin and cefotaxime in patients with UTI in hospitals Dompu 2014. This study was an observational study with cross sectional design JKN hospitalized patients with class III disease and UTI done retrospectively. Calculated the total cost of therapy is the direct medical costs according to the hospital's perspective. Data analysis was performed by comparing the cost of treatment of UTI with activity as measured by the disappearance of clinical symptoms. The results were obtained prevalence of UTI in hospitals Dompu for hospitalization 58 patients. The percentage of patients who achieved the target of 87% ciprofloxacin therapy and therapy cefotaxime 84%. The total cost of an average use of antibiotics ciprofloxacin injection 803,973.55 IDR and the use of the antibiotic cefotaxime 859,161.92 IDR. Value ACER (Average Cost-Effectiveness Ratio) in the treatment group was lower than ciprofloxacin therapy group cefotaxime 924, 112.49 IDR. So that ciprofloxacin therapy group more cost effective than cefotaxime therapy group. Keywords: Cost-effectiveness, Ciprofloxacin and Cefotaxime, Urinary Tract Infection.
