Abstract

The clove oil is the volatile oil from the clove plants which has main component, that that is the eugenol compound. It has pharmacology activity as antiseptic. The purpose of the research is to know that clove oil, can be made as emulgel with concentrate varitation carbomer and trietanolamin (TEA) which the best physical quality test. Clove violatile oil emugel is made by the variation of karbomer : TEA, formulation 1 (1% : 8%), formulation 2 (1,5% : 10%), formulation 3 (2% : 12%) then each formulation is tested about the physcal quality with the same treatment. The test are organoleptis test, homogenitas test, viskositas test, pH test, the spread energy test, the sticky energy test, the protection energy test, the emulsion energy test, and the stability of the temperature test. Data was analyzed by the ANOVA statistics which use SPSS 18. The result of the research shows that the clove volatile oil with karbomer and TEA varitation can be made emugel which fullfill the physcal quality test. Formulation 3 (karbomer 1% TEA 12%) based on the test result it has the best pyscal quality. Keyword : emulgel, clove volatile oil, karbomer, TEA.
