Abstract
Fisetin (3,3 ', 4', 7-tetrahydroxyflavone) is a polyphenolic compound belonging to the class of flavonoid compounds with a various activities as a natural antioxidants. Fisetin has a very low bioavailability of about 10%, this is due to the low water solubility so that the provision of fisetin in oral form is rarely given. One approach to increasing solubility is to make spherical crystals. This study aims to determine the spherical crystal fisetin with spherical agglomeration method the solvent dimethyl sulfoxide,. Fisetin spherical crystal polymers are formulated with a variety of formulated 1 PVP 1%, Formulated 2 PVA 1% and Formulated 3 PEG 4000 1%, prepared by the method of spherical agglomeration. Fisetin dissolved in DMSO, is added to the polymer PVP 1% and stirred with a magnetic stirrer to form a saturated sediment then add chloroform to form spherical crystals are seen in the microscope is marked with a round crystal form. Characterization of spherical crystal morphology fisetin include microscopy, solubility, SEM and determination% yield. The results showed that the spherical crystal fisetin with polymer PVP 1% spherical crystals form. The yield method 400C oven at a temperature of 93%. Results of the spherical crystal fisetin SEM with a magnification of 2500 times showed the size of 10μm and already formed spherical crystals. The amount of dissolved crystalline spheric of fisetin in solubility test was 9.0706 mg / ml of 10 mg added. Keywords : Fisetin, spherical agglomeration method, polymer.
