Abstract

MetalCoatingsindustryis an industrythatultimatelytreatmentusingchromiumelectroplatingbyliquidwastefromtheplatingsolutionwasdirtyandsaturated . Iftheproductionisnowaste treatmentisperformedprior to disposalit willpollute the environment. One of theheavymetalpollutionischrome(VI) whichhas ahightoxicityto the environment. Handling ofwaste pollutionof heavymetalscontainingchromium(VI) can beperformedby using azeoliteadsorbentofnature.Natural zeolites areabletoadsorbheavy metalsbecause it hasadsorptionproperties. In general,natural zeolitestill containorganicimpuritiesandinorganicporecover, so as toimprovethe ability ofnaturalzeolitesadsorptionactivationmustbe donefirst.Activationis theactivationzeoliteperformedchemicallyby means ofsoakedzeoliteusingHClconcentration0.2N; 0.4N; 0.6N; 0.8N; and1N.HCltodetermine the concentration ofthe mostgoodindecreased levels ofchromium(VI) andthe percentagedecrease inthe levels ofchromium(VI). Analysis ofthe levels ofchromium(VI) carried outbyspectrophotometric methodusingUV-Vis spectrophotometerwith a wavelength of540nm. Inthis study,the percentagereduction inchromium(VI) metal platingindustry wastewaterwithzeoliteadsorbentthathas beenchemicallyactivatedwithHClconcentration0.2Nwas 32.26%, the concentration ofHCl0.4Nwas33.67%, the concentration ofHCl0.6 N was 34.260.6% ,the concentration ofHCl0.8Nwas34.55%, andthe concentration ofHCl1Nwas35.09%. Based on the resultsof the mostwellHClconcentrationindecreased levels ofchromium(VI) is a1NHCltodecreasethe percentage of35.09%.
