Abstract

Typhoid fever is a systemic infectious disease caused by Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi A, B, C. Based on WHO data about 17 million cases of fever worldwide with an incidence of 600.000 cases of death each year. In Indonesia the case is spread across the province with an incidence of about 600.000 and 1.5 million cases per year. This study aims to determine the most severa and know the suitability of antibiotic prescribing for inpatient patients with typhoid fever in RSUD dr.Soediran Mangun Sumarso in Wonogiri in 2016 against Hospital Formulary, department of health standards and WHO standards. This study uses non-experimental descriptive method, by retrospective data retrieval by looking at medical records in patients with typhoid fever at inpatient installation RSUD dr.Soediran Mangun Sumarso in Wonogiri 2016. The results of the study in 100 patients Typhoid fever Antibiotics are the most widely used for typhoid is one that is Ceftriaxon (28.125%) and Cefotaxime (28.125%) and combination antibiotic therapy that is cephalosporin and Chloramphenicol (52.77%). Typhoid fever prescription is in compliance with the Hospital Formulary standard of 100%, WHO standard for adults is 100% and children 60% and with department of health standard for adults of 100% and children 60%.
