Abstract

Green beans (Phaseolus radiatus) is one of the traditional plant that can be used as a drug to treat a variety of diseases including analgesics. This research purposed the analgesic effect of green beans maceration on the white male mice were induced pain and to find the most effective dose. Green beans extracted using a solvent of ethanol with maceration method. Analgesic method used is Sigmund with chemical stimulation to induce pain . Test animals were divided into 5 groups, each group consisted of 5 mice. Group I (negative control) distilled water, group II (positive control) of asam mefenamat1,3 mg/20g BW, group III (extract of green beans 25 mg/20g BW dose), Group IV (extract of green beans 50 mg/20g BW dose) and group V (extract of green beans 75 mg/20g BW dose)). The number of writhing was calculated every 10 minutes during 60 minutes . Data have been obtained then analyzed statistically using ANOVA with a level of 95 % . The results showed that green beans extract has an analgesic effect on white male mice were induced pain. The most effective dose Analgesic of green beans extract is 50 mg/20g BW.
