Abstract

Mojo (Aegle marmelos L.) contain many chemical compounds that have been extensively researched and has a lot of activity. The aims of the experiment were to find out whether mojo bark extract had immunomodulatory activity that can enhance macrophage phagocytosis and lymphocyte proliferation. Mojo bark extract was made by maceration method with ethanol 96% solvent. Then do the fractionated by Vacuum Liquid Chromatography, later identified compounds contained by TLC, then the fraction of the most well followed the identification of compounds by using LCMS. The immunostimulatory activity parameter were macrophage phagocytosis and lymphocyte proliferation. The extract preparation test were made in several variation concentration. Results of the studies showed that the highest phagocytic activity macrophages of the fraction is 750 ppm concentration. The lymphocytes proliferation activities is 750 ppm concentration. The results of phytochemical analysis of mojo bark contains flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins. The compound that contained in the fraction (the active fraction) supposed was aegeline.
