Abstract

Hibiscus leaf has efficacy as anti-inflammatory, mucolitic and diuretic. Traditionally, hibiscus leaves are used as a diuretic by boiling with water. This research to know the diuretic activity of active fractions from ethanol extract of leaves of hibiscus tiliaceus are tested orally to male rats. The extraction method used was macerated in 70% ethanol and then separated through a fractionation process. Animals are used for this test is 25 tail and divided into 5 groups: suspension furosemid 0.72 mg/200 g BB (positive control), CMC suspension 0.5% (negative control), the fraction of n-Hexane, ethyl acetate fraction, and the fraction of water. The volume of urine was recorded every hour for 8 hours. Diuretic effects were seen from the results of data analysis AUC 0-8 obtained from the volume of urine each time of observation. The Data obtained were analyzed using analysis of Kolmogorov smirnov test with parametik, one way anova (analysis of variance of one way) and Tukey HSD with 95% confidence level. The fraction of water extract ethanol hibiscus leaves able to provided the activity of the effects of diuretic most effective with a dose of 170,532 mg / 200 gram BW a rat.
