Abstract

Schizophrenia is a thought disorder combination of hallucinations, delusions and disorganized thinking and behavior. The ability of people with skizoprenia to function normally and take care of themselves tend to decline over time. This disease is a chronic condition that requires lifelong treatment, so that the necessary monitoring of the use of antipsychotics as the primary pharmacological treatment for skizoprenia. This study aims to determine the pattern of use of antipsychotics in schizophrenic patients in the Outpatient Installation Regional Mental Hospital (RSJD) Surakarta in 2013. Patients included in this study were patients with schizophrenia PKMS Silver in Outpatient Installation RSJD Surakarta in 2013, retrospective data collection through the patient's medical records include diagnoses, data on the use of drugs, sex and age by using descriptive methods. The results showed that the type of antipsychotics used include risperidone, clozapine, Trifluperazin, Chlorpromazine, and Haloperidol. The number of antipsychotic drug use by patients with schizophrenia PKMS Silver during the year 2013 in the Outpatient Installation is the single largest RSJD risperidone were 29 cases (10.2%) and the largest is the combination of Risperidone - Chlorpromazine total of 88 cases (31.1%). Antipsychotic drugs are used for patients with schizophrenia is not fully in accordance with Hospital Formulariun, but according to the Texas Medication Algorithm Project guidline Procedural Manual.
