Abstract
Hypertension is a clinical condition in which blood pressure increases, with systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diastolic of more than 90 mmHg. This disease can result in a variety of complications, one of which is renal failure. This study aimed to find out the use of antihypertensive agent on hypertensive patient with chronic renal failure (ICD I12.0) in geriatric inpatient of Purwokerto Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Local General Hospital in 2012 and 2013 with ATC/DDD method. This study was a descriptive quantitative research with retrospective data collection. Antihypertensive data was obtained from medical record installation in inpatient ward. All of data were than processed to find out the quantity of antihypertensive agent use in DDD/100 treatment day unit and considering the DU90%. The compatibility of drug use was compared with Hospital Drug List, JNC VII and with WHO Collaborating Center 2013. The result of research showed that based on ATC/DDD method and DU90%, it could be found that antihypertensive drug used came from ACE inhibitor, ARB, CCB, Diuretic, Beta Blocker, and Antialdosterone classes. The mostly used antihypertensive agent was furosemide of 69.84% in 2012 and 42.65% in 2013. The compatibility of antihypertensive agent use in this research compared with Hospital Drug List was 100% in 2012 and 203. The compatibility of antihypertensive agent use compared with JNC VII of 45.45% in 2012 and 43.75% in 2013. Considering DU90% in 2012 and 2013, the antihypertensive agent use did not change.
