Abstract
Treatment of tuberculosis can be done using natural medicine e.g papaya leaf and Morinda fruit. Active compound of Morinda and papaya efficacious as tuberculosis medicine. The purpose of this study was to obtain optimum proportion of combination PVP binder and lactose dilluent in production capsule of ethanol 70% extract combination of Morinda (Morinda citrifolia L.) and papaya (Carica papaya L.) by Simplex Design Latice resulting capsule which meet the requirement of capsule physical quality test. Capsule formulation of morinda and papaya leaf extractsby dry granulation with addition PVP and lactose, then conducted physical quality test of granule include flow rate, and water absorption. Determination of optimum formula simplex latice design with pay attentionto physical properties of resulting granule mixture. Results which obtained from experiments was analyzed by independet test sample t-test. The results showed that proportion of lactose dilluent mixture of 462.33 mg and PVP binder of 8.3691 mg was gave optimal formula on physical quality of granule and produce capsule of papaya leaf and Morinda ethanolic extracts which meets the requirements of capsule physical quality test.
