Abstract

Aloe vera ( Aloe vera Linn ) is a plant that has the potential to be developed as a medicinal plant which can be used as anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, and wound healing . Aloe vera has active substances such as saponins, anthraquinon, accemanan which acts as an antibacterial. The use of aloe vera directly considered less practical, so it needs to be made cream preparation. This study aims to obtain the optimum formula cream aloe vera gel extract using emulsifier tween 80 and span 80 by Design Expert software version 8.6.0. Aloe vera gel extract cream is made with three formulas based on Simplex Lattice Design. Cream the resulting physical quality tested include homogeneity and stability, organoleptis, viscosity, dispersive power, pH , viscosity and antibacterial activity shifts with diffusion method. Optimum formula obtained using Design Expert 8.6.0 software created and tested during the 4 weeks of physical quality, physical quality test results obtained cream statistically using ttest and to determine differences in each formula, it can be done one-way ANOVA statistical analysis and test t - Tuckey with 95% confidence level . The result of the study optimum formula cream aloe vera gel extract obtained on the composition of mixture was 6,314 % tween 80 and span 80 was 3,683%.
