Abstract

Infectious disease is one of the health problems in Indonesia. One of the bacteria that causes infectious diseases is Staphylococcus aureus, one of the plants that can be used as herbal medicine is Soursop Leaf (Annona muricata L.) and Binahong Leaves (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis). This research aim to know the inhibition of antibacterial activity from ethanolic extract combination of soursop leaf and binahong leaf Plant extraction using maceration method. Bacterial isolation was carried out using macroscopic testing with Vogel Jonshon Agar (VJA) media and microscopic testing with gram staining, coagulase test and catalase test. Identification of bacteria using Mueller Hilton Agar (MHA) media with DMSO as a negative control and Gentamicin as a positive control. The concentration used to test antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus is with a concentration of 80% using five comparisons of soursop leaves and binahong leaves, namely 0: 1, 1: 0, 1: 1, 1: 2, 2: 1. Testing the inhibitory power against bacterial growth is done by diffusion method. The results from five soursop leaves and binahong leaves ethanolic extract which use 80% concentration from laboratory culture showed 0: 1 (10,3 mm) 1: 0 (9,0 mm) 1: 1 (9,3 mm) ) 1: 2 (8,7 mm) 2: 1 (9,0 mm) and from hospital pus patient showed 0: 1 (11,3 mm) 1: 0 (9,3 mm) 1: 1 (10,6 mm) 1: 2 (10 mm) 2: 1 (11 mm). Results antibacterial activity test conclude that Anonna muricata leaves ethanolic extract higher than combination from both against Staphylococcus aureus. __________________________________________________________________ Keyword : Staphylococcus aureus, Soursop Leaves and Binahong Leaves, Ethanolic Extract.
