Abstract
Acute appendicitis is inflammation of cermiformis appendix, and a bacterial infection. Apendiktomi is surgery which conducted to cut appendix tissue which inflamed. Antibiotics are a group of drug which commonly used for appendectomypatient. The purpose of this study was to determine type of antibiotic which used in appendectomypatient acute appendicitis diagnosis, presence or absence antibiotic usage changes in appendectomypatients with acute appendicitis diagnosis, and determine antibiotic usage comply with formulary and Medical Service Standard of Yarsis Hospital Surakarta in 2012 and 2013 which seen from DU 90%. This study was descriptive study with data collectionretrospectively using ATC/DDD method i.e research tools of drugusage to improve the quality use of drugs with average treatment dose per day which estimated for adult indication. The research sample were entire population of medical records of appendectomypatientwith acute appendicitis diagnosis at Yarsis Hopital Surakarta in 2012 and 2013. Most antibiotics used in 2012 and 2013 wasCeftriaxone and the lowest was Sefotaxim. Antibiotics used was 100% comply with Formulary of Yarsis Hospital Surakarta and compliment with Medical Service Standard of Hospital was 20%. Antibiotic usage in 2012 and 2013 did notchange. Antibioticwhich include in the DU90% segment in 2012 and 2013 were Ceftriaxone and Amoksisillin. Keywords: Antibiotic, Appendectomy, ATC/DDD, DU90%.
