Abstract
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a collection of metabolic diseases that have a characteristic increase in blood glucose that occurs due to abnormalities of insulin secretion. Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus will increase the progression of various chronic complications, such as kidney disease. Examination of levels of urea and creatinine is a parameter that can be used to assess kidney function, so that if an abnormality can be seen from the high or low levels of urea and creatinine. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a comparison of serum urea and creatinine test results in controlled and uncontrolled type 2 DM patients. This research uses an observational analytic research design with cross sectional approach. Using secondary data with sample number 190 data of type 2 DM patient. This research use data from 2016 - 2017 in RSUD Dr. Moewardi (RSDM) in Surakarta. Statistical analysis was performed using Kolmogorov - Smirnov test for normality test and different test using Independent Sample T - Test. The results of this study indicate the mean ureum content of 53.88 mg / dl and creatinine content level of 1.59 mg / dl. The result of normality test by Kolmogorov - Smirnov test is obtained p> 0,05, so the data is normal distribution. The result of the test of Independent Sample T - Test ureum obtained p value = 0,027 and creatinin got p value = 0,001, so it can be stated that there is a significant difference between serum urea and creatinin level in controlled and uncontrolled type 2 diabetes patient.
