Abstract

Steeping green tea, black tea, and white teapolyphenol in form of catekin. The purpose of this study to petermine of antibacterial activity from steeping green tea, black tea, and white tea againt Escherichia coli ATCC 25922. The experiments performed in the test of antibacterial activity using the method of paper disc diffusion. Bacterial Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 previously indetified including macroscopic, microscopic and biochemical tests. Sampel of green tea, black tea, and white tea in the steeping by means of water as 5 ml. The next step is to test the antibacterial activity and result of observation data in analysis using SPSS. Observation do with whether or not there observed antibacterial activity in the area of obstacle (mm). The result of this study steeping green tea, black tea, and white tea has antibacterial activity for Escherichia coli ATCC 25922. Got the results that third steeping tea which is most effective in inhibiting growth bacterial Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 is steeping with an average white tea clear zone diameter of 14 mm.
