Abstract
Salam leaf is a crop which is one of its benefits can cure mellitus diabetic. Mellitus diabetic type 2 is caused insulin resistance and insulin function deficiencies. This reseach aim is know the pharmacology effect from salam leaf at mouse of wistar which is made insulin resistance of decreasing blood glucose rate and GLUT4 amount. Salam leaf extraction use ethanol dissolve with maserasi method. Used by test animal is mouse of wistar counted 25 tail devided into 5 treatment group. Group I: negatif control CMC 1%; Group II: positif control metformin 45 mg/kg BW, Group III: dose 70 mg/kg BW salam leaf extract; Group IV: dose 140 mg/kg BW; Group V: dose 210 mg/kg BW. Glucose blood rate perceived on the 0 day, the 30th day, pre treatment and the 60th day (T1) pre treatment, the 65th day (T2) after treatment and the 71th day (T3) after treatment. The result of research indicate that giving of salam leaf ethanol extract dose 70 mg/kg BW; 140 mg/kg BW and 210 mg/kg BW can decreasing of blood glucose and increasing translocasi GLUT4. Dose 210 mg/kg BW can reduce of blood glucose rate and increasing the amount of biggest GLUT4. Giving dose 210 mg/kg BW the can increasing significant of blood glucose at the 60th is 148 mg/dL at 71th is 109,4 mg/dL and increasing the amount biggest translokasi GLUT4 is 18,4 if compared with the two gorup of doses test and has unsignificant result of statistic result.
