Abstract
Scabies disease is a contagious skin disease caused by Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis. The scabies disease often attacks human that live in groups such as home detention. The accuracy of medicine delivery in therapeutic treatment of a disease is a very important factor in the success of therapies. This research aimed was to determine the medicine commonly used for the treatment of scabies in Polyclinic State Prison Class 1 Surakarta in 2013 as well as the accuracy and appropriateness of medicine use with the basic guidelines for the treatment of scabies disease according to the Ministry of Health of RI in 2007. Research method used was descriptive analysis. The samples used is medical record on patient with scabies disease where the sampling technique used is total sampling. The result obtained a total sample of 208 patient, drug use are klorfeniramin maleat, dexklorfeniramin maleat, dexametason, hidrokortison cream, amoxicillin, ciprofloxacin, cotrimoksazol, gentamicin cream, tetrasiklin, paracetamol and ibuprofen. The results of the evaluation of the rationality of drug use that is not appropriate based on the diagnosis of drug delivery by 100% and improper administration of drugs based on the symptoms of disease by 4.8%, imprecise indication of 4,8%, not timely administration of 0,5%, wary of the side effects of drug toxicity in case duplication of drug use by 1,5% as well as side effects of resistance to antibiotic drugs use a combination of 2,4%. The medicine that used on patient with the scabies disease in Polyclinic State Prison Class 1 Surakarta in 2013 not appropriate with the basic guidelines for the treatment of scabies disease according to the Ministry of Health of RI in 2007 Keyword : Scabies, Use of drugs, Treatment guidelines
