Abstract

Typhoid fever is caused by Salmonella typhi, tranmitted through contaminated food or beverange. Antibioticis a drugs class frequently used to cure Typhoid Fever. The objective of research was to find out antibioticdrug use in Typhoid Fever in patient installation basedon class, preparation form, power, and use volume with Anatomical Therapeutical Chemical (ATC) and Defined Daily Dose (DDD) during 2012 and 2013. To find out the compatibility of antibiotic drug use based on DU 90% with Hospital Formulary andStandart Medical Service in inpatient installation of Surakarta Yarsis Islamic Hospital. This study was a descriptive research with retrospective data collection in Surakarta Yarsis Islamic Hospital on April 2014. The sample was adult male and female patients with typoid fever receiving antibiotic drug in Surakarta Yarsis Islamic Hospital in 2012 and 2013. The data of research was antibiotic use in patient with typoid fever in inpatien installation ot Surakarta Yarsis Islamic Hospital in medical record departement. The antibiotic mostly used in 2012 and 2013 was ceftriaxone and the one rarely used was ceftazidime in 2012 and ofloxacine in 2013. The antibiotic used had been 100% compatible with the Formulary of Surakarta Yarsis Islamic Hospital and with Srandart Medical Service with use proportion of 48,04% in 2012 nd 33,23% in 2013. The result of research showed that there was no significant change in 2012 and 2013, only addition of ofloxacine antibiotic use in 2013 in Surakarta Yarsis Islamic Hospital.
