Abstract

The examination of blood glucose is laboratories test that often done. The purposes this examination is to determine whether there is diabetes mellitus disease and treatment monitoring. Incident of electric blackouts, depleted reagents, equipment damaged, sampling place is too far from the laboratory and the number of patients who perform laboratory tests then resulted samples delayed examination. The anticoagulants addition of NaF (sodium fluoride) aims to prevent the glycolysis. But not all of laboratories have a tube with NaF anticoagulant because the price is fairly expensive and its limited used only to the examination of blood glucose. The study purposes of serum glucose levels examination with NaF plasma before and after delay of 2 and 4 hours is to compared the glucose levels in the serum and NaF plasma after the delay of 2 and 4 hours. The determination of serum glucose levels and NaF plasma used the hexokinase enzymatic method. The results of serum glucose levels determination with NaF plasma before and after of 2 and 4 hours delay then statistically analyzed using SPSS. Based on the results of Two way ANOVA test showed a significance value greater than 0.05 (> 0.05) this mean that the average of serum glucose levels with NaF plasma before and after of 2 and 4 hours delay there was no significant difference and no interaction between sample group with time group.
