Abstract
Blackseed (Nigella sativa L.) oil is the one obtained from the process of extracting balckseed. Blackseed oil can lower the blood glucose level significantly in 27.7% diabetic patient receiving the blackseed extract oil, cholesterol, kill virus. The objective of study was to find out whether or not the jinten oil could be prepared in stable emulsion preparation and to find out the most stable emulsion among the 3 variations of CMC concentration as stabilizer. Blackseed oil was made in emulsion preparation using wet gom method. The blackeed (Nigella sativa L.) oil was prepared in emulsion preparation with CMC concentration variations of 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%. Then each formula was tested for emulsion stability with the same treatment. The tests included viscosity, homogeneity, centrifugation and emulsion type determination. Then the data was analyzed using a one-way ANAVA and followed by Post Hoc test at confidence level 95%. The result of research showed that the blackseed (Nigella sativa L.) oil could be prepared in stable emulsion form. From the result of centrifugation stability test, it could be seen that the CMC concentration of 1.5% was more stable than other formulas because of least dissociation due to damage. _________________________________________________________________ Keywords: emulsion, blackseed oil, CMC
