Abstract

Lemon fruit (Citrus aurantifolia. S) is a plant that has potential as a traditional medicine to resolve variety of diseases including analgesics. This research purposed the analgesic effect of lemon decoction on the white male mice. Lemon fruit extracted by the method of decoction. Analgesic method used is Sigmund with chemical stimulation to induce pain . Test animals were divided into 5 groups, each group consisted of 5 mice. Group I (negative control) provided of distilled water, group II (positive control) with the provided of paracetamol, group III (decoction of lemon 0.056 mL/20 g BW dose), Group IV (decoction of lemon 0.112 mL/20 g BW dose) and group V (decoction of lemon doses 0.224 mL/20 g BW). The number of writhing was calculated every 10 minutes during 60 minutes . Data have been obtained then analyzed statistically using ANOVA with a level of 95 % followed by SNK test . The results showed that lemon decoction (Citrus aurantifolia. S) has an analgesic effect on white male mice. The most effective dose Analgesic of lemon decoction is 0.224 mL/20 g BW paracetamol equivalent to 1.3 mg/20 g BW . Keysword: Lemon fruit, decoction, analgesic.
