Abstract

Spilanthes herb (Spilanthes acmella L.) has long been known by Indonesian people as an ingredient of traditional medicine. This study aims to antifungal activity of n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water fractions from ethanol 70% extract Spilanthes herb against Candida albicans. Test antifungal activity against Candida albicans ATCC 10231 performed diffusion and dilution. Diffusion method done to know resistibility to Candida albicans ATCC 10231 with a concentration of 20%, 15%, 10% and a positive control betel soap liquid. Dilution method done to know Minimum Concentration to Kill using serial dilutions of 50%; 25%; 12,5%; 6,25%; 3,125%; 1,57%; 0,79%; 0,40% and 0,20%. Analysis of data obtained statistically using Kruskal Wallis. The results of this study show that higher concentration made higher activity to inhiting Candida albicans ATCC 10231. Activity of ethyl aceate fractions, n-heksan fractions, water fraction dan extract ethanol 70% of Spilanthes herb when concentration in 20% has diameter inhibite respectively 17,67 mm; 22,33 mm; 9 mm; 13,33 mm. Activity of ethyl acetate fraction has the best antifungal. Kill Concentration Minimum of ethyl acetate fraction from ethanol 70% extract of Spilanthes herb to kill Candida albicans ATCC 10231 is a concentration of 25% dilution method.
