Abstract
Akar wangi (Vetiveria zizanioides) plants which empirically efficacious as an antifungal. The chemical contents of akar wangi are volatil oil, flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin dan tanin. The experiment was aimed to test the antifungal activity of n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water fractions of akar wangi (Vetiveria zizanioides) ethanol extract Candida albicans ATCC 10231. The method used was maceration method with ethanol 70% solvent, followed by fractionation with n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water solvents. The antifungal activity test was done by dilution method. Concentration of the fractions extract used were 50%, 25%, 12,5%, 6,25%, 3,125%, 1,56%, 0,78%, 0,39%, 0,195%, 0,097%. The result of the experiment showed that minimum killing concentration n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water fraction of ethanol extract akar wangi against Candida albicans ATCC 10231 are 12,5%b/v; 25%b/v; 25%b/v. The n-hexane fraction had the most optimum antifungal activity. Keywords : akar wangi, Candida albicans, antifungal.
