Abstract

Takokak fruit (Solanum torvum Sw.) contains flavonoids. Takokak fruit flavonoid expected to boost the body's immunity. This study aimed to determine the effect of ethanol extract takokak fruit (Solanum torvum Sw.) and dose effect on IgM titers in mice Balb/c induced SRBC 1%. Mice were divided 5 groups each consisting of 6 mice. All groups induced by SRBC 1% on day 8th (after 7 days for acclimatization). Induction intraperitonial done. Groups I, II, III, given dose, respectively extract is 75 mg / kg, 150 mg / kg and 400 mg / kg human. Group IV was given Stimuno® at a dose of 0.13 mg/20 g BW and group V were given 0.5% CMC as a negative control. Serum was taken on day 14th for IgM titer levels checked by indirect ELISA technique. One-way ANOVA test showed no significant difference amoung P1, P2 and P5, but P4 higher than P3. The results showed that the ethanol extract of the fruit takokak BB 150mg/kg dose effect on IgM titer.
