Abstract

Excess sunlight causes the epidermal tissue of the skin can not resist negative effects such as skin cancer that causes cancer and skin cancer. Hand Body Lotion is a cosmetic product that contains sunscreen ingredients. Hand body lotion generally have label SPF value on the packaging. The purpose of this research is to know the value of SPF in accordance with In-Vitro with Spectrophotometric Uv-Vis method, and to know the difference with the SPF value on the packaging label. This research was conducted on several Hand Body Lotion products, as many as five samples in-vitro using Spectrophotometric Uv-Vis method. The test is performed by reading the absorbance of the sample at a certain wavelength ie 290-320 nm (UV-B) interval 5 nm. Sunscreen products can be used by using ethanol solvent and counting by applying the term Mansur. Based on the research results, the SPF values in each sample used in this study are A (7,5317 ± 0,15), B (4,8930 ± 0,11), C sample (9.5576 ± 0, 29), sample D (2,2831 ± 0,19), sample E (34,7070. ± 0,13), Research Center whose samples A, B, C, D, did not meet the Head of the Food and Drug Administration on Directive technical supervision of cosmetics, ie marking for sunscreen products is mandatory to include sunscreen information with SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of at least 15.
